2021 Back-to-School Drive
In 2021, the Almond Blossom had it's first Back-To-School Drive. As an organization, we recognize that there are people all around Florida who would benefit from the Back-To-School Drive but we decided for our first drive that we should focus on the areas where they would need it the most. Selecting schools from the poorest places in Central Florida would provide the most amount of relief to those families.
Although our focus is about eliminating education barriers that factor into poverty, our Back-To-School Drives aren't just covering the school supplies that kids at these schools need to use every day during the school year but, we also provide them with other items that further relieve financial strain.
In this drive we supported 30 elementary schools students living under the poverty line with brand-new backpacks and school supplies. We also donated clothing and shoes so that student not have the supplies to do well in school but, they can feel good going into school.
With the help of our volunteers and outreach groups, we successfully carried out the Back-To-School Drive of 2021. Without support from the community, this project wouldn't have been possible.
